2. WHERE?
In Poland Saint Nicholas is a very deified and
esteemed individual. Dressed in bishop clothes, he
descends from heaven with the help of an angel and
he wanders all around the country either on foot or
in a white horse-drawn carriage. The children are
very excited at his sight and they start crying "Here
he is! He came!"
Saint Nicholas Day is the first of the winter holidays,
which end on the 7-th of January.
3. WHEN?
Nicholas is thought to be the saint patron
of the children and people in need. The
night of 5-th to
6-th December he comes to the children
full of gifts. The evening before, all the kids
are very busy polishing their boots; then
they leave them at the fireplace for Nicholas
to put the presents inside. Saint Nicholas
brings presents to all the members of the
family. The lazy and naughty children are
often rewarded a beautifully decorated rod.
