Lets see about that Hotel in this Assignment
•   Jaypee Group is an infrastructure conglomerate with diverse business
    interests ranging from Engineering and Construction, Cement, Private
    Hydropower, Hospitality, Information Technology, and Real Estate
    Development to Expressways and Highways.
    The founder of Jaypee Group is Jaiprakash Gaur, who started as a civil
    contractor in 1958. In 1979, Jaiprakash Associates Private Ltd (JAPL) was
    formed. In 1980, Jaypee Group entered into Hospitality sector and set up
    Hotels Siddharth and Vasant Continental. In 1983, Jaypee Rewa Cement
    Plant (JRCL) was established with an initial capacity of 1 million tones. In
    1986, Jaiprakash Industries Limited (JIL) was formed by amalgamating
    JAPL into JRCL. In 1992, Jaiprakash Hydro Power Ltd (JHPL) and
    Jaiprakash Power Venture Ltd. (JPVL) were formed. In 1996, Jaypee Bela
    Cement Plant (JBCP) was established with an initial capacity of 1.9 million
    tones. In 2000, JRCL and JBCP were merged to form Jaypee Cement Ltd.
    (JCL). In 2003, Jaiprakash Associates Ltd. (JAL) was formed by merging JIL
    with JCL. In 2005, shares of JHPL were listed on BSE/NSE and JHPL
    became the first Hydropower company to be publicly held and listed in India.

    Real Estate Development: Jaypee Group is developing real estate in Greater Noida. Its

       •   One of the first high-rises completed in
           Athens in 1963 but never gained the title of the
           first skyscraper of the city which, in the eyes
           of the Athenians goes to the Athens Tower 1
           (1971).
       •   After an extensive renovation, the hotel
           resumed its operations in the beginning of
           2003. During the renovation works, the hotel
           was completely refurbished and was added a
           new 7-storey northern wing with an additional
           74 rooms and suites, thus rising the total of
           available rooms to 517.
       •   The hotel was chosen to be the main
           accommodation site for the members of the
           International Olympic Committee (IOC) during
           the Athens 2004 Summer Olympic Games.

           The hotel faces the Acropolis on one of the
           city's most fashionable avenues, just a few
           minutes' walk from the city centre, opposite
           the National Gallery (Athens) and close to
           many major companies, shopping areas and

History
•   Founded in 1919 by Conrad Hilton. Hilton bought his first hotel, the Mobley
    Hotel, in 1919 in Cisco, Texas.

•   In 1930, Conrad Hilton opened his first high-rise Hilton hotel in EI Pasco, Texas,
    which is currently called the Plaza Hotel.
•   In 1954 Hilton hotels bought the Statler Hotel chain, making it the largest
    hospitality company in the world.
•   The Conrad Hilton Hotel in Chicago was scene of the 1968,Democratic
    Convention riots that occurred across the street in Grant Park. The hotels doors
    were locked for the first time in its history. The hotel still suffered minor damage
    as a result of the violence outside as the street level windows gave way under
    the weight of hundreds of protesters on the street during the ensuing riot.
•    John Lennon and Yoko Ono held their first Bed-In for Peace between March
    25, 1969 and March 31, 1969 at the Amsterdam Hilton in Room 702. This room
    became a popular tourist destination.[
•                This Amsterdam Hilton hotel has had two notable incidents. In 1991,
    Dutch drugs kingpin Klaas Bruinsma, once the No. 1 drugs dealer of Europe,
    was assassinated in front of the building. On July 11 2001, Dutch artist Herman
    Brood committed suicide by jumping from the roof.

     d) Date of departure.
     e) Mode of arrival and time.
     f) Room type and meal plans and packages if any.
     g) Mode of payment.
     h) Method of guarantee.
     i) Special instructions like A/P pick-up, preference of rooms, etc,.
     j) Name and contact no. of the caller.
STEP 2:
• The reservation request is then transferred to the Hotel Dairy or
  The Reservations Dairy either manually or in the computer where
  the information is stored as per the arrival date of the guest.

STEP 3:
• The reservation is automatically updated in the room wall charts
  i.e. the density chart or advance letting chart and the room status
  boards.

  arrangements for traditional welcome, if any.
• Have 3 copies of naming list ready and make
  tentative room allocation on the naming list with
  pencil.
• Have 3 copies of the passport list ready (if available)
  or ask tour leader for one.
• Check that amenities to be provided in the form of
  Group Leader are placed there.
• Pre-register the group.

On Arrival:
• Extend welcome/ traditional to the group.
• Hand over the naming list on which rooms have
  been allocated, to the group leader. Help in the
  distribution of the envelopes and briefly explain
  location of the rooms to the group members.
• Hand over the rooming list to the Bell captain for
  marking the luggage.
• Present the pre-registered GRC for the group
  leader’s signatures. Note down the number of
  bags on the GRC.
• Take the original voucher from the group leader
  and note down instructions for the group meals.
  Preferably have the F& B Manger introduced to
  the group leader.
• Hand over group leader’s room key envelope
  and wish a pleasant stay.
Post Arrival:
• Sign the GRC.
• Ensure that the luggage has been sent to the
  rooms.

• Keep one copy of the Group Rooming in the

• Open 2 bills, one for the bill to be raised as per

Jaypee Group is an infrastructure conglomerate with diverse business interests ranging from Engineering and Construction, Cement, Private Hydropower, Hospitality, Information Technology, and Real Estate Development to Expressways and Highways. The founder of Jaypee Group is Jaiprakash Gaur, who started as a civil contractor in 1958. In 1979, Jaiprakash Associates Private Ltd (JAPL) was formed. In 1980, Jaypee Group entered into Hospitality sector and set up Hotels Siddharth and Vasant Continental. In 1983, Jaypee Rewa Cement Plant (JRCL) was established with an initial capacity of 1 million tones. In 1986, Jaiprakash Industries Limited (JIL) was formed by amalgamating JAPL into JRCL. In 1992, Jaiprakash Hydro Power Ltd (JHPL) and Jaiprakash Power Venture Ltd. (JPVL) were formed. In 1996, Jaypee Bela Cement Plant (JBCP) was established with an initial capacity of 1.9 million tones. In 2000, JRCL and JBCP were merged to form Jaypee Cement Ltd. (JCL). In 2003, Jaiprakash Associates Ltd. (JAL) was formed by merging JIL with JCL. In 2005, shares of JHPL were listed on BSE/NSE and JHPL became the first Hydropower company to be publicly held and listed in India.

Jaypee Groups • Business Interests of Jaypee Group Civil Engineering: Jaiprakash Associates Ltd., the flagship company of the Group, is a pioneer in construction of river valley and hydropower projects on turnkey basis in India. Jaypee Group has executed 13 Hydropower projects spread over 6 states of India and neighbouring Bhutan to generate 10,290 MW of power. Hydropower: Jaypee Group ventured into hydropower in 1992, with the formation of Jaiprakash Hydro Power Ltd (JHPL) and Jaiprakash Power Venture Ltd. (JPVL). The group has undertaken following hydroprojects: Baspa Hydro - Electric Project Stage II (300 MW) on the river Baspa, in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pardesh; Vishnu Prayag, 400MW project on the river Alaknanada; and Karcham Wangtoo 1000 MW project. Cement: Jaypee Group is the 4th largest cement producer in the country. It produces Ordinary Portland Cement and Pozzolana Portland Cement under the brand names "Buland" and "Buniyad". The group has plants at Rewa, and Bela. Jaypee Group is poised to achieve cement production capacity of 20 MTPA by the year 2009. Hospitality: Jaypee Group owns and operates four Five Star Deluxe hotels through a subsidiary company, Jaypee Hotels Limited.
