By Jazz Ricketts Looking back at your preliminary task, What do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product.
Changes in communication techniques to the audience As you can see in this picture the model is not facing The audience therefore it is having less of an effect Because it is not engaging the Audiences. So in my actual product I made my model be facing Head on so he is looking directly at the audience in Order to create a direct mode of address this makes Me think the way in which I address the audience is a Lot better in my actual product than in my preliminary Also in my preliminary task the masthead is to Small therefore it is less likely to engage the readers attention So in my actual product I made the masthead a lot Bigger in order to attract the Audiences attention And to stand out from the crowd.
Page layouts and composition skills As you can see in the actual product I laid my Page out very differently to my preliminary task I realised That in order to have an impact on the audience you need To lay your front cover out in a professional way as in my Preliminary task I just put the writing anywhere and just put The picture in the middle of the page. However now I know Myself that just by looking back at my preliminary task it Doesn't really have much of an impact on the Audience where As when the page is laid out neatly and is easier to read it is More likely to engage the Audiences attention. Also the writing and font on my preliminary task is to small and again less likely to engage the audiences attention therefore this was another aspect which I had to change when producing my actual product
Photo shop Skills On the preliminary task I didn't use the magnetic lasso Tool I used the lasso tool and as you can see I cut a bit of The model’s head off this instantly makes the magazine Look less realistic and I had to work on this when I made My actual product and I needed to find a tool which would Actual work and allow me to cut around the model with Out any mistakes. However on my actual product You can see that the image when I used The magnetic lasso tool cut out perfectly and it makes The image look more realistic and as if it hasn't been cut Out at all which was the effect which I wanted to give.
Further photo Shop skills On my preliminary task contents page you can see it doesn't look Very realistic or eye catching the writing is too small and doesn't Stand out a lot at all plus their are no images which can engage the Audience so I had a lot to change on my actual product. So on my actual product I had to add images to engage the audience I also laid the page out a lot differently I used The shape tool to give me a more organised Layout while using different fonts to have diffent effects e.g. the bold subtitles catch the Audiences attention And the bold title at the top tells the Audience what page They are on.
