1. Start Your Day With Lemon Water Every Morning
For a few years now I’ve started my day with a glass of fresh lemon and warm
water and occasionally would add a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar, but that’s an
article for another time!
So what are the benefits of having lemon water? Here they are:
- Helps flush out toxins
- Hydrates the body after fasting: Your body while you sleep is literally in
fasting mode and when you wake up you feel dehydrated. Drinking a glass
or two of lemon water rehydrates the body and kick starts your
metabolism
- Strengthens the immune system
- Balances and maintains the body’s pH
- Detoxifies the liver and kidneys
- Encourages bile production and aids digestion
- Reduces inflammation in joints and knees
- Relieves indigestion and excess gas
- Potassium helps nourish the brain and nerve cells
- Serves as a powerful anti-bacterial
- Aids weight loss
- Helps with colds and flu symptoms and packed full of vitamin C which the
body needs
- Lemon juice is a great skin cleanser which benefits the skin and helps
prevent wrinkles and acne
- Freshens breath
- Soothes sore throat
Lemon is a natural energizer: it hydrates and oxygenates the body so it feels
energized and refreshed. With all these benefits, I think I will be sticking to
having a glass each morning. Don’t stop there though, it’s also great to have it
through the day to aid digestion and balance the body’s pH levels which helps
2. boost your immune system. Ensure you have a bottle of water with you through
out the day to keep your body hydrated even in this cold weather!
As a guide, add at least a tablespoonful of freshly squeezed lemon juice to a glass
of warm water and enjoy, add some fresh mint leaves to give additional benefits
and freshness. Let the cleansing begin!!
