2. The narrative of the music video is about how Ciara's body is
a party for her romantic partner, Future. This is portrayed from
right at the beginning of the song, the concept of the song is
outlined in the lyrics “My body is your party, baby/ Nobody's
invited but you baby/ I can do it slow now, tell me what you
want”.
Notions of looking, which refers to the audience gaining
pleasure through watching the performer, is also used a lot
through out the video & enforced by Ciara's dance routines,
the striptease she performs for her romantic lover and the
scenes where she you can only she her shadow as she
changes her poses. The video is very illustrative as the visuals
literally represent the lyrics of the song.

black lace lingerie and black heels in the bedroom.
According to Steve Archers theory of music
videos, he states that there has to be a strong
& relationship between the narrative and
performance of the music video. He also stated
that in music videos, there is a carefully
choreographed dance might be part of the
artists performance or an extra aspect of the
video. Ciara's’ music video supports Archers
theory as it contains carefully choreographed
dance routines and there is a strong
relationship between the narrative of the video
and the performance.
3. Close up
Throughout the music
video, there are many
different types of camera
shots including close ups of
the artist which was the
most reoccurring camera
shot. Using close up shot
helps to emphasise the
mood of the song and the
artists facial expression.
The use if close up songs also
allows for the audience to
focus on the star image. This is
a promotion of the star through
the video using many close up
shots. Through close up shots,
the l lip synching used to make
it appear as if the artist is
actually singing the song
although, all sound is non
diegetic as it has been added
during post production stages
of the video.

4. The mise en scene in the video is a party scene which relates with the lyrics of
the song and the ‘party’ in the title of the song. The scene also helps in
enforcing the narrative of the song.
Ciara is an artist who is known to always have dance routines in her videos,
conforming to the Archers stereotype of music videos, despite the genre of the
song. In this music video, the dance routines take place in the party stetting
scenes of the video.
