  2. 2. <ul><li>There are seven city centers within lima each with unique attractions and significant historic value. The oldest of such plazas was established in 1535 is Plaza Mayor.   3. 3. <ul><li>The plaza Italia was built by conquistadores after they destroyed the sites original religious temple. One of its most popular attractions is the Church of Santa Ana. </li></ul><ul><li>Plaza Bolognesi is dedicated to Francisco Bolognesi a war hero who fought for Peru in the Pacific War.   4. 4. <ul><li>Plaza de Acho was planned by Viceroy Manuel de Amat as a bullfighting ring. It is one of the worlds largest bullfighting rings and events are still held there to this day. </li></ul><ul><li>In 1821 General Jose de San Martin declared independence for the country of Peru. One hundred years later Plaza San Martin opened in his honor.
