E. CONCLUSION
Fan design parameters are clearly indicated in the technical datasheet supplied with every fan. They
must be noted carefully when planning an installa on. It is possible to retrofit fans and achieve
significant power savings which eventually impact the revenues of the company by reducing
maintenance costs as well. Customer has expressed sa sfac on with the results and plans further
interven ons to op mise plant performance and profitability.

A. ISSUE
Customer wanted to op mise power consump on in the factory . They requested for a site audit in
areas of high power consump on.
C. ACTION
The customer decided to take up retrofit of two fans to assess the savings in power as well as
op mise machine performance which were crea ng high suc on pressure and consuming almost
full load current for the actual requirement of Air Volume and Suc on pressure. Customer was
presented with the data and a life cycle cost analysis for a retrofit installa on that would be aligned
with the machine working condi ons. Customer agreed with the solu on offered and installed two
B. OBSERVATION
Customer was provided observa on data, fan performance data, vibra on report and bearing
condi on report along with sugges ons.
All small fans connected to compactors with 4kw motor installed running without problem, except
the ones fixed for lapformer suc on. It was observed fans installed for lapformer machine were
drawing high current and crea ng much more pressure and controlling this heavy suc on was
difficult. controlling,Even a er the fans were drawing 4kw.

FAN MANAGEMENT PLAN
7. FAN MANAGEMENT PLAN
Our FAN MANAGEMENT PLAN (FMP) has been carefully developed to provide a superior level
of service and reliability. Our fundamental understanding of fans developed during the design
and construc on phase is illustrated in the FMP.
The aim of FMP is to reduce costs by improving efficiency. It creates equipment history
on which is based plans for retrofits and spare parts purchases thus avoiding unplanned
stoppages.
THREE LEVELS OF FAN MANAGEMENT
Our knowledge, experience and exper se in fan construc on and opera on coupled with our
commitment to the Indian market makes the FMP the best tool to op mise ownership costs.
