What kind of media institution
might distribute your media
product and why?

2. Bauer Media
Bauer media are a very popular and well known, privately
owned publishing group. They have over 300 products
including TV stations, Radios and many more online
products. They are also famous for publishing Q and
Kerrang! Magazine which also have share the same target
audience as I do. Bauer also circulate over 38 million
magazines a week which will have a vast amount of
benefits towards publishing my magazine. It may be more
more likely for them to publish mine as its not a genre they
normally produce.

3. Harris Publications
• Having researched into many magazines, including XXL,
knowing that they distribute this magazine, it would be
ideal if they distributed mine. The benefits of this would
be that they are under control of publication and
distribution of 10 other magazines which are all of similar
genre to mine, this means it can be effectively marketed
to gain the best possible success. They are also one of the
largest distributors of music magazines in the US. By
being in the US it means my magazine would reach a
wider audience on a larger scale meaning more sales.

4. IPC MEDIA
• IPC publishing company is also a very popular magazine
publishing company which would most likely be able to
distribute my magazine. They publish a lot of magazines
that are of similar genre to mine such as ‘NME’ which is
an extremely successful magazine with a target audience
of young adults like mine. Their knowledge of this type
of magazine makes IPC extremely good to publish my
magazine as they know the market, how to sell it and how
to reach the audience.
