  • 1. Ancient Egypt Activities to Include in a Unit on Ancient Egypt
  • 2. Enactive Activities Enactive activities are experiences that provide direct, personal, hands-on learning opportunities. In other words, enactive learning is learning by doing.
  • 3. Enactive Activities •“Mummify” an orange http://www.neferchichi.com/fruity.html •Build a model of a pyramid
  • 4. Enactive Activities •Practice “wall painting” in a “tomb” •Create a paper “sarcophagus” with representations of Egypt and/or the student
  • 5. Enactive Activities •Make paper (papyrus) •Act out the stories of the gods Anubis and Neith
  • 6. Enactive Activities •Play an Egyptian game such as Senet •Use hieroglyphics to write a message
  • 7. Iconic Activities Iconic experiences are types of learning that use visual aids such as video, photographs, diagrams, or maps.
  • 8. Iconic Activities •Watch videos about Ancient Egypt •View photos of Egyptian artifacts, art, hieroglyphics, pyramids, etc.
