- Redi-Rock International is leading the Big Block retaining wall market in North America with the most advanced retaining wall products and retaining wall designs available today. Our system captures The Essence of Natural Rock with 3 Rock Textures: Limestone, Cobblestone, and Ledgestone The bread and butter of our system is the top, middle, and bottom retaining walls blocks The block are trapezoidal in shape, fitting together like one ton LEGOS. The Blocks weigh between 1200 and 2400 lbs and are nearly 6sqft of face per block. The face is 18” high and 46” long.

- Here is a new software program available to engineers to design Redi-Rock walls. This program is available to be downloaded free at www.redi-rock.com. (good time to hand out the one page flyer on the analysis software and go over the bullet points) This program has been available for over a year and we have not heard anything but good comments from this program

- Now we would like to introduce you to our new system for reinforced soil walls…the PC or Positive Connection System.
- This is the 28” PC block. We have cast a slot through the middle of our block.
- You can see in this cross-section, there is a tapered slot which is cast all the way through the block.
- The slot allows us to wrap a 12” wide strip of geogrid through the block. The top and bottom legs extend the full length back into the reinforced soil zone.
- Here you can see an installation of two rows of PC blocks. Top and Bottom Layer = 25% Coverage Middle Layers = 50% Coverage
- It’s very easy to install the grid strips through the blocks after they are set. Grid can also be installed through block before it is set.
- This slide shows testing points from the PC block in comparison to more typical “big block” connections. You can see that the PC block connection does not vary depending on how much weight is on the blocks. This is what we mean when we say that the PC connection is weight independent. You have just as strong a connection with the top blocks in the wall as you do with the bottom blocks.
- The PC System allows for some Flexibiltiy in Design. For Example, you can install geogrid strips on every other row of blocks. This leaves room for concrete piers in the reinforced soil zone.
- We can easily accommodate obstructions behind the wall.
- The PC System works well with CIP traffic barriers.
- We can also incorporate a Cast-In-Place Coping layer if you need it in your design.
- A big advantage of the PC System is the performance of the connection.
- The PC System provides corrosion resistance. There are no metal parts in the reinforcement or connection to the blocks.
- The PC System is simple to install. And with each block providing almost 6 square feet of wall face, the wall can be built quickly.
- The PC System is simple and reliable. There are precast concrete blocks and geogrid strips. The PC System has been tested with Mirafi geogrids, which have been through the NTPEP review process.
- A strong point of the Redi-Rock system is our ability to provide next generation aesthetics. In addition to our 3 rock faces, we can also produce custom molds. We have made landmark blocks with dates, tribal seals, and project monuments. You will find a “can do” attitude if your project requires custom blocks.

- Redi-Rock can help contribute to the 2009 USGBC LEED New Construction and Major Renovations with these credits (remember Redi-Rock can not achieve any of these credits by itself it can only help contribute to these credits for these projects) Sustainable Sites Credit 5.1 and 5.2 protect and restore habitat and Maximize open space.
