According to the updated reports, approximately 192,157 persons have been affected in 169 Blocks across 12 districts of West Bengal, viz., East Midnapore, West Midnapore, Howrah, Hooghly, Bankura, Puruliya, North and South 24 Parganas, Murshidabad, Barddhaman, Birbhum and Darjeeling. According to the updated reports from the Department of Disaster Management, Government of West Bengal, there were reports of 21 casualties, so far. The Disaster Management Department, through the district and block administration has opened a total of 41 relief camps, 14 in West Midnapore and 17 in East Midnapore.
