Question 1 “What type of genre do you enjoy watching?” showed that the public mostly enjoy Reality TV programmes out of all the options of genre that were given. Although our results suggest that Reality TV is most popular, we still want to on go our Horror genre idea as we want our target audience to be teens/young adults.
Question 2 “What TV channel do you watch most programmes on?” showed that the public mostly watch their programmes on ITV 2, Channel 4 and E4. Although these three tied and appear to be most popular, we still want our Horror programme to air on a channel most suited for this type of genre such as FX.
Question 3 “How do you watch TV?” showed that the public mostly watch their programmes on the television itself. We would like our programme to be aired on television, but also to be shown on other devices such as iPhones, iPads and laptops as our target audience is of a younger age and would use a wide variety of different devices.
Question 4 “How many hours do you watch TV per day?” showed that the public mostly watch between 1-4 hours of television a day. This is an advantage as our programme would run for an hour.
Question 5 “What kind of setting would you prefer a Horror TV show to be set?” showed that the public would enjoy if the programme was based in a haunted house. Although this is the most popular result, we would like our show to be set in an asylum as we believe it is a change from the common and typical horror settings.
Question 6 “What type of characters would you like to see in a Horror TV show?” showed that the audience would prefer to watch a Horror TV show with characters who are mental. We will use characters who are mental in our programme as we want it to be based in a asylum.
Question 7 “What actors do you think would suite a Horror TV show?” showed that the public believe that Mila Kunis would be an actress most suited for a role in a Horror TV show. We believe that Mila Kunis would be perfect for our programme, being a role such as a damsel in distress.
Question 8 “How many times a week would you prefer a Horror TV show aired?” showed that the public would rather a Horror TV show to be aired once a week. We are going to air our programme once a week as we believe this would be most suitable for the type of programme that it is.
Question 9 “What is your favourite Horror film?” showed that the publics favourite Horror film is Texas Chainsaw Massacre. We will use certain aspects from Texas Chainsaw Massacre, such as scenes like the gruesome scenes in this film.
Question 10 “Would you prefer a TV show to be a continued theme or a mini-series with different themes?” showed that the public would mostly enjoy a TV show which has a change of theme. We will be using this type of theme for our Horror programme.
