This session will introduce you to the use of social networking and in particular, twitter, through a hands-on experience – attendees need to bring their laptop to benefit fully. You will have a comprehensive overview of common social networking / media options, will begin to create your PLN, and will participate in tweets, follows, searches, and retweets. You will share ideas, quotes, websites, and videos with your PLN and will be able to grow this valuable resource over time. Additionally, we will discuss and consider the pros / cons of using Facebook in schools and districts. If you plan to attend, be sure to read this post Tweet, Link, and Learn: http://www.shift2future.com/2010/10/tweet-link-and-learn.html prior to attending and sign up for your twitter account. Please be sure to choose an account name that is professional in nature.
