Editor's Notes
British Council film Bangladesh – is this a helpful term to use with the public – here we see some very different responses as to what climate change is? Just because people can ’ t define it doesn ’ t mean they don ’ t understand the impact and effects of climate – change, is it a useful term to use at all when we ’ re assessing whether people know about it?
why are we asking this question - In order to answer these questions we asked people questions. 33,000 people across 7 countries in fact. We ’ re asking 2 big questions with this project
*Community Assessments are where researchers go into a community for one to two days in rural and urban areas to really understand how the climatic changes are having an impact on their community. Different techniques are used including depth interviews with influential people in the community, transect walk through the community, and discussions with the community using hazard maps, community maps and seasonal calendars. These assessments will explore how the enabling environment is affecting people ’s responses and explore the role of information in supporting these more vulnerable communities.
