A trailer is an advertisement or commercial for a
film that is to be screened in the future at a
cinema.
There are two different types of trailer, a teaser
trailer and a full trailer. A teaser trailer usually last
from 40-60 seconds. It gives the audience an
indication into the genre, the director, and most
importantly, when it is being released in cinemas.
Where as a full trailer focuses in a lot more detail
of the plotโฆ
3. โฆThe term trailer comes from
the fact that they were originally
โtrailedโ onto the end of a feature
film screening. However this did
not last long as the audience
would tend to leave the theatre
straight after the film had ended.
4. WHAT IS THE PURPOSE?
The purpose of a film
trailer is to make you want
to see the movie, and there
are a number of techniques
that are used in order to lure
the viewerโฆ
5. โฆThese include giving a brief idea of the
plot without giving anything away, telling
the audience what genre the movie is and
showing them some of the main
actors/actresses. The chances are if
someone knows one of their favorite
actors are starring in a film, they will be
more interested in it, and possibly in seeing
it.
