UPSIDC to prepare DPR for Hi-Tech City
The Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation (UPSIDC) will soon
prepare a detailed proposal for Hi-tech City which is to come up near Ganga
barrage on Kanpur-Unnao border.
UPSIDC managing director Manoj Singh has asked his subordinates, including the
executive engineer, to submit the detailed project report (DPR) of the project soon
but no deadline has been set.
The Hi-Tech City, proposed on 1,132 acres of land in the trans-Ganga area of the
city, will be an enclosed area, which will be built along the Ganga. It would be
equipped with underground wiring, cabling, gas and water supply, apart from
optical fibre lines and other amenities. Apart from 28- to 35-floor multi-storeyed
buildings, the proposed project will also accommodate a 300 acre park.

Policy
"I have instructed my subordinates to prepare a DPR so that the work on developing trans-Ganga Hi-
Tech City project could be started soon," said Singh on Wednesday.
Trans-Ganga scheme will be the state's first-of-its-kind initiative that will house green, non-polluting
industries, Singh added but declined to give any timeline for the completion of the project.
He said that the project will promote development of Industrial city and neighbouring Unnao. "The
living style of people is changing drastically and cities will be developed in a hi-tech manner to
enable them to get every facility conveniently," he said.
The lives of people would be very easy, if their work place, schools and markets become
approachable and it would save their time and fuel cost, he added.
"We have been working on land acquisition and in the process of releasing necessary compensation
to the farmers against the same. The sooner the work starts, the better it will be for investors. The
project will generate employment for nearly one lakh people," added another UPSIDC official.
The hi-tech city would house a wide variety of industries ranging from IT and IT enabled services,
business process, outsourcing, financial institutions and hotels, Singh told TOI.

exposition mart for auto companies and leather and handicraft
industries, apart from sewage and effluent treatment plants for
residential and industrial buildings, respectively, he said.
To be built along the lines of buildings in Chandigarh, residential
buildings in the proposed industrial city will be back facing, while the
facades will be built in glass. Senior UPSIDC officials also said
proposed projects would have provisions for water recycling, Singh
said.
