  • • They both mark off ten generations. • They end by noting the three sons of the last person, Noah and Terah. • The genealogies are accurately self-referenced.
  • Modern genetics shows that when a large, freely interbreeding group is suddenly broken into many smaller groups which from then on breed only among themselves, dominant characteristics unique to each group will arise very rapidly. There are 4 genes for skin color from which a whole range of skin shades may be produced in the offspring from light to dark. All skin color in humans comes from a pigment called melanin. Everyone has the same color, but some just have more of it (intensity). A person with a lot of melanin will be very dark; a little melanin renders her very light. All the information for the variations of skin shades goes back to the original parents—Adam and Eve.

    2. 2. Read Genesis 10 - 11
    3. 3. The significance of Genesis 10-11• Understand the development of the nations.• Understand the development of our modern society’s linguistic andsocietal groups.Secularism is dependent on a disconnect from the ancient past. When people see how they share roots in common with those mentioned inthe scriptures, then they would have to face the God who designed and madethem. They would see God’s place in history. History is being driven toaccomplish God’s work rather than as the secularists demand that religion is adevelopment along with ignorant men. They developed these religions in fear.Ancient cultures never could look beyond their own culture. They wouldalways brag of their accomplishments and speak excessively of them. Only inGod’s Word do we find this detailed and yet honest revelation of the historyof the world. God wants to link our modern generation to the ancient worldfor it is only then can we gain a full understanding of the Lord of history andHis purposes among mankind.
    4. 4. We aim to explore three areaswithin Genesis 10 – 11.1. How did the entire human race came about fromNoah’s family? How did racism came about?2. Dispersion of Noah’s family lineage across entireearth  Why did it happen?3. Did Dinosaurs co-exist with humans?
    5. 5. Who are Noah’s sons?Genesis 9:19 (ESV)• These three were the sons of Noah, and from thesethe people of the whole earth were dispersed.1. Shem2. Ham3. Japheth
    6. 6. Quick IntroductionShemShem was Noahs oldest son. Abrahams lineage came through Shem, and he is the fatherof all the Semitic races. (Actually the word "Semite" comes from the word Shem.) He isthe ancestor of the Jews and Arabs, the Babylonians, Phoenicians, Assyrians and otherpeoples from the region of the eastern Mediterranean, as well as the yellow races of thefar east. His lineage is traced in Genesis 10:21-31.HamHam was the second of Noahs sons. His sons were Cush, Egypt, Put and Canaan, and hisdescendants include the Ethiopians, Egyptians, Libyans, and the black African nations.Because Ham looked upon his fathers nakedness, his son Canaan was cursed. Hamsfamily is listed in Genesis 10:6-20.JaphethJapheth was Noahs youngest son. He was the father of seven sons, and the Greeks, thepeoples of Europe - and all the lands they settled, such as America - are his descendants.Japheth helped Shem cover their fathers nakedness when Noah became drunk. Japhethsfamily is listed in Genesis 10:2-5.Source: http://www.greateremmanuelchurch.com/drsmith/Noahs%20Three%20Sons.htm

    13. 13. The Tower of BabelIn the ninth chapter of Genesis, God commands Noah and his sons to "Be fruitfuland multiply, and fill the earth" (9:1 NAS).On the fifth day of the creation of the Earth, God gave this command to the birdsand fishes (Gen. 1:20-23). On the sixth day, God reiterated this command to thepinnacles of creation, man and woman (Gen. 1:26-28).Humanity was to subjugate the untamed Earth bydispersing themselves.Whereas God’s children during then wanted to build the tower to provide acommon religious center as a rallying point, lest the people be scattered. Thebuilders of the tower were in open defiance of Gods command (Genesis 9:1) (53).
    14. 14. The Tower of BabelGenesis 11:1-9The Tower of Babel records how thewickedness of mankind again got out oforder beckoning God to judge the earth.God provided grace by separating mankindinto a multitude of groups. Each languagegroup no doubt was based on a family. From Genesis 10 we find 70 people groups.Question:1. Why did God judge man asunrighteous in this case?2. Why is a rebellion possible?
    15. 15. What Happened to Dinosaurs? Didthey co-exist with mankind?
    16. 16. What Happened to Dinosaurs? Didthey co-exist with mankind?God created all the marine and flying creatures on Day 5 suchasplesiosaurs and pterodactyls plus land animals on Day 6 which includeddinosaurs. Human and dinosaur footprints are found together in Texas and inTurkmenia, formerly part of the Soviet Union, plus other places.Because of Adam’s sin, the animals started killing each other as violence anddeath enter the earth. Dinosaurs got into the ark with Noah.Dinosaurs eventually died out like many other species of animals since theCreation. The world after the Flood was much different than before. Theenvironmental conditions, with the sparse vegetation, the destruction of the pre-Flood vapor canopy, and the temperature extremes during the ensuing Ice Agewould have caused many animal types to become extinct, a process whichcontinues today.
    17. 17. What Happened to Dinosaurs? Didthey co-exist with mankind?Biblical mentions of dinosaurs (recorded as dragons):The Biblical writers, inspired by God, wrote about creatures described by theHebrew word tanniyn which is translated “dragons” in over 20 passages. Theyare depicted as dwelling in different types of habitats and as being of varioussizes (Isaiah 34:13; Micah 1:8; Malachi 1:3).Modern translators of the Bible choose not to use the word “dragon” becausemodern man has never seen a creature that fits the description of some ofthe creatures mentioned in the Bible. So they translate the word tanniyn asjackal, whale, serpent, etc. but the Hebrew word means “dragon” or“monster,” not jackal.
    18. 18. Conclusion1 Corinthians 15:39 All flesh is not the same:People have one flesh, animals have another, birds and fish another.1. We are of one blood – The Biblenever talks about races but about tribesand nations. There is only one race –Human Race. Interbreeding withinsmaller groups produce dominantcharacteristics unique to each group andskin shade differs due to pigmentationfrom melanin. We originate from thesame color.
    19. 19. Conclusion2. Human race was meant to be dispersed throughNoah’s sons (Shem, Ham and Japheth) and nations tobe formed.Modern civilizations and humanity are descended from thesethree men. God separated the people to different lands andlanguages to frustrate their self-destructive plans. Determined tostay faithful to His covenant, this was Gods only mercifulalternative in response to the tower.Psalm 33:10 (ESV) The LORD brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; He frustrates the plans of the peoples.
    20. 20. Conclusion3. Dinosaurs did NOT live millions of years ago; theyDID live beside people; they DID go on Noah’s Ark; theyare mentioned in the Bible: they DID live after theFlood (Job 40-41).There is MUCH evidence that they have lived up until quiterecently. God CREATED all animal types. Dinosaurs did NOTevolve, and there is really NO mystery about what happened tothem.
