To research why Mumbai is becoming unsafe for women & to find out if there exists a relation between:
• Type of harassment and Type of clothes worn
• Frequency of harassment and Age group
• Frequency of harassment and Mode of Commutation
Research Methodology:
Survey of 60 females through questionnaire was done. The responses generated were punched in excel sheet and chi square testing was applied to find out the presence/absence of above stated points.
2. WOMEN SAFETY
• INDIAN WOMAN BEARING THE TORCH OF CULTURED LIVING THROUGH SELF-
SACRIFICE.
• THE DECLINING SEX RATIO IN INDIA AMPLY PORTRAYS THE DISCRIMINATION
SHOWN TOWARDS WOMEN.
• PROBLEM OF UNEMPLOYMENT, POVERTY, ECONOMIC INEQUALITY, GENDER
DISCRIMINATION, LACK OF PROPER EDUCATION ETC. WHICH ARE THE PART AND
PARCEL OF SOCIETY, PREVAIL MOSTLY IN WOMEN.
3. RESEARCH OBJECTIVE
Following are the major areas which we want to cover in our research:
• Security system in Mumbai
• Security in public transport for women
• Awareness of law and order
• Responsiveness of people towards crime against women
• Kind of harassment faced by women in Mumbai
• Preparedness of women against such crimes
