2. Yes, Jesus Loves Me!
Review Homework:
• What are some of the things you learned from
“practicing God’s Presence?
• Did you encounter any hindrances? What were
they? How did you overcome them?
• Tonight’s Lesson Objectives:
• Understand God’s love for us
• Understand God’s love for others
• What is discernment?
• What is the difference between discernment and
suspicion?
3. Yes, Jesus Loves Me!
Read & discuss the story at the beginning of the
Chapter 3
• In order to “fish” prophetically (or minister) to
others, we MUST have an understanding of the
mercy, grace and love of our Father!
• We do not have to do anything for Jesus. Rather, it is
our privilege to do things for Jesus because we love
Him.
• We can not justify ourselves or anyone else.
Justification ONLY comes through the mercy and
grace and God.
4. Yes, Jesus Loves Me!
• Discern: the ability to recognize truth from that
what is evil.
“Be honest in your judgment and do not decide at a
glance (superficially and by appearances); but judge
fairly and righteously.” – John 7:24 AMP
• It is important that we judge things properly, or
discern. Treating the symptom may make the
problem worse!
• Discernment by outward appearances, out of
ignorance, basing it off symptoms, can be
devastating--even with the best of intents.
5. Yes, Jesus Loves Me!
• We must be careful that we do not confuse
suspicion with perception or discernment. Suspicion
is from the mind, not from the Spirit of God. We
cannot be led by our “suspicions.” We must be led
by the power of the Holy Spirit.
• Discerning of spirits is not discerning the faults in
other people. This gift discerns spirits, not people.
• There are many voices speaking today. We need to
spend time in the presence of the Lord and in His
Word so that we can discern what HE is saying.
• If you want to know His will you must first know
HIM!
6. Yes, Jesus Loves Me!
Foundation Scriptures on Love:
• Jeremiah 31:3: "I have loved you with an everlasting
love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness"
• Matthew 11:28-30: Come to me, all you who are
weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take
my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am
gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest
for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is
light.
7. Yes, Jesus Loves Me!
The Love Gift of the Holy Spirit:
• Out of His great love for us, Jesus made it possible for us to be in total
union with Him. His death, burial and resurrection stripped Satan of the
authority.
• After He was raised from the dead, Jesus told His disciples, "All authority
in heaven and on earth has been given to me" (Matthew 28:18). Before
He ascended into heaven, He released this power which is the “Holy
Spirit”, is available to you and me and all those who accept Him as Savior
and Lord.
“I will send him to you. When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard
to sin and righteousness and judgment. ... I have much more to say to you, more
than you can now bear. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you
into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and
he will tell you what is yet to come. He will bring glory to me by taking from
what is mine and making it known to you.” John 16:7-8, 12-14
8. Yes, Jesus Loves Me!
• When His Holy Spirit lives inside us, He changes our
habits, patterns and thinking. He gives believers
supernatural gifts such as prophecy, the word of
knowledge, the word of wisdom and discernment-
all of which are necessary for prophetic fishing.
• If you ask the Holy Spirit to fill you with Himself-
then His love, power and authority will be yours.
The Holy Spirit will infuse your spirit with the life,
fire, energy, voice and breath of God. He will guide
you as you study God's Word, teaching you who you
are in Christ, and who He is in you.
9. Yes, Jesus Loves Me!
He Loves us with Mercy:
• Mercy: compassion or forgiveness shown toward
someone whom it is within one's power to punish or
harm.
He has showed you, 0 man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:8
• We did not do anything to earn our salvation. He did it
all! He certainly did not bring us into His Kingdom
because we are better than anyone else.
• We are sinners saved by His grace, and He expects us to
show the same mercy to others that He has shown us.
10. Yes, Jesus Loves Me!
• God wants us to enjoy walking with Him-to set our faces
like flint toward Him and let Him, in His great mercy,
conform us into His image.
• Additional Scriptures:
• 1 Chronicles 16:34, Psalm 85:10, Hebrews 4:16, Isaiah
54:8, Jeremiah 31:3
• If you have children, then you know the amazing love a
parent has for his or her child. Multiply that by at least a
trillion times and you will begin to understand how much
God loves every single human being-even those who thumb
their noses at Him and live in open rebellion against Him.
