10. What made me start a VoIP business? Spent a lot of time traveling between UK and US and realized I was spending a lot of money making expensive calls. Decided to look into VoIP as a way to save money personally.
12. What do Localphone do? We are an ITSP, but our major focus is to allow customers to use their existing devices such as their landline or mobile to make calls. Over time we aim to migrate them to SIP devices as the technology matures and becomes easier to configure.

15. Localphone Direct This is our main product and allows customers to make direct dial international calls by calling a local number from their landline or mobile. Example: Let’s say you live in San Francisco and you have family in the UK. We allocate you a San Francisco number for each member of your family in the UK.
16. Localphone Calling Card We have access numbers in around 40 countries. Calling card works very much the same way a traditional calling card does except we don’t charge connection or maintenance fees. It comes standard with all Localphone Direct accounts.

18. Localphone 16881 Allows customers connected to the BT network in the UK to prefix calls with 16881 and BT deliver the call to us for termination. Great for businesses as they can simply program existing legacy PBX to prefix any international calls to go through localphone. Similar to 10-10 prefixes in USA.

24. Localphone Direct – How it works Origination gateway receives the call from the PSTN and turns call into SIP. The Gateway sends the INVITE to our proxy. 2
25. Localphone Direct – How it works 3 Proxy then extracts the callerID of the caller and authenticates based on this. It then looks up the international number assigned to the local number the customer called before sending to prepay proxy.
26. Localphone Direct – How it works 4 Prepay Proxy checks there are enough funds to make the call and also accounts for the call. The INVITE is now sent to the termination gateway.
