Plus Energy LAB specializes in planning and design of Passive Houses, Low
Energy Consumption and Zero Energy Buildings as well as the green retrofit and
energy upgrading of existing buildings “converting” them into Passive, Low or Zero
Consumption Buildings, in accordance with the latest European construction
standards.

solutions for all building types; industrial, recreational or residential.

Our goal is the creation of a new generation of buildings that are characterized by
low or zero energy consumption cost, reduced carbon emissions as well as a
positive contribution to the environment.




*According to recent E.U. directives (2010/31/EU) all buildings should be constructed or upgraded under the
new standards with zero energy consumption.
The directives will be applied from 2018 on public buildings and 2020 for private buildings.

Integrated Design
Through the application of latest technologies and processes we design a building
holistically by utilizing digital models containing rich information across the life
cycle. This integrated process offers enormous gains in saving cost and time,

getting more accurate estimations, avoiding errors and rework and maximizing
project ROI. Moreover, we encourage highly sustainable outcomes through whole
building energy simulation, water and carbon emission analyses early in the design

Life Cycle Analysis ( LCA )
Plus Energy LAB defines the scope of the project and calculates the CO2 emitted
throughout the construction or retrofit stages. Assessing the environmental
footprint of buildings and proceeding to energy improvements, we achieve lowered
CO2 emissions and cost reductions.

Sustainability beyond Energy Saving
The concept of sustainability encompasses all areas of the people-planet-profit
principle, providing a basis for differentiation, recourse and risk management for
any construction project.

Building Restoration
Building repurposing
Even in a small country like Greece, there is a considerable area of square meters of
existing building stock - both residential and commercial - that is abandoned and just
consumes resources. Hence, there are compelling reasons to renew and adapt green
practices for existing (not necessarily historic) buildings rather than build anew.
Repurposing an existing building that has fallen off tax rolls because its original
purpose is defunct is another compelling reason. Repurposing simply means to use a
building for something other than its original purpose, in order to create a more
efficient and up-to-date built environment.


Building Pathology and Rehabilitation / Sick Building Syndrome
Oversights during the design or construction phases can have severe outcomes as
they can create constant pollution sources that greatly degrade the environment of
either living or working spaces and can result in the emergence of pathological issues
by the users. Through the threefold approach investigation/proposal/rehabilitation it is
possible to tackle all problems and reinstate proper conditions. The problem might not
be clearly visible, as the common manifestations lethargy-headaches-illnesses aren’t
alarming, but companies that acknowledged and successfully resolved such problems
have been greatly rewarded in the short term, as they have immediately benefited from
the rise in productivity and the diminishment of sick day leaves.

Evaluation and certification of building environmental efficiency and sustainability
utilizing the application of the world’s leading design and assessment method for
sustainable buildings. Through the BREEAM methodology, which is based on the
principles of sustainable design, implementation and use.

Carbon Neutral Verification
For the carbon neutral certification, organizations invest a specific financial amount
according to the emissions emitted in carbon offset projects in developing countries.
The Carbon Neutral Certification is a proof of commitment towards environmental
protection that has gained high recognition and credibility worldwide.
