2. ** The Path is a short story/film about a young girl, her father and aunt who
live in a tiny house in the middle of nowhere. In order to “safely” get to
and from the house without going through the thick forest you must go
down a long eerie but yet beautiful path. The girl was brought to the path
as a baby by her mother and father. Her mother passed soon afer she was
born due to post complications with he delivery. She remembers her
smiling but in grave pain and her father rushing her away and never
seeing her again. The girl is ill and has a rare medical condition which
one symptom is that she can not stray to far from her house. But the path
and what lies beyond excites and terrifies her. Her Aunt(fathers sister) is a
nutty person to most and believes in black holes and alternate universes
etc. etc. and encourages her to write what she believes is beyond the
path. The girl writes about fantasy fiction and such. The scary side though
is at night. The Path seems horrifying, tree limbs bend and sway like arms
waiting to grab and harm. She is increased on her medication and sees
faces that she tries to distinguish from reality. She also encounters a stray
animal(she contounsly tries to get closer and close to the end of the path
to get to what is outside. The path begins to take on a new meaning to
her and she becomes obsessed. Does it have the power to bring people
into her life and take them away forever? Are there really things that
haunt the path at night? Does anything really exist beyond the path? As far
as the rest man I am trying to decide if she is actually in a coma and at
the end of the path is her awakening to the real world, or maybe
something else…or maybe I will leave it open to the viewer to decide and
screw with everyone's head.
* So far I have only a few people for the characters;
