Good Stuff Happens in 1:1 Meetings: Why you need them and how to do them well
Interesting Information About The Use Of Paper For Anyone
1. We have so many uses for paper today, we do not even
stop to think about it. We get a strip of it whenever we
buy groceries or a fast food meal in the form of a receipt.
It can be thick, thin, blue, pink, round or standard 8 by 11.
We use it for record books, manuals, paperback
novels, coloring books and many, many more things. We
cut it into different shapes, hang it around the room as
seasonal decoration and wrap it around presents to make
them more of a surprise when opened.
2. We get a strip of it in the form of a receipt every time we
buy something. We have record books to keep track of all
of these purchases because we usually throw the receipt
away. We keep track of things with pen and paper because
we know it is more convenient than carrying our computer
around with us. We shape it, color it and hang it around
the house during the holidays or for special events. We
wrap surprise gifts in it so that the contents cannot be
seen.
3. Our technological advances have made the use of
traditional forms almost nonexistent. We are seeing a
rapid decline in the use of letter sending every single day.
As the years go by, the postal service suffers losses due to
this electronic invasion. Otherwise, the paper industry is
thriving. Because of recycling, it is easy to find.
Businesspeople make a point of shredding and recycling
the documents that are run through the company.
4. There is not a place on Earth that does not use some form
of this material. It can be burned or shredded for disposal.
It can be laminated so that it lasts for a lifetime. It can be
seal or embossed, pummeled till it is soft as tissue, made
fire-resistant, frozen or hardened.
5. Even as our modern technology leans away from using
paper, for environmental and financial reasons, we will
still see books and pamphlets of all kinds, as
advertisements and for learning purposes. What is made
can be recycled for more. Once it is shredded and put
through for recycling, it can be remade into anything else.
6. We have a need for this material every single day, even in
different forms than a sheet of it to write on. We use it to
help us clean surfaces and our bodies. We use it in the
bathroom and the kitchen and all over the house. When
we get sick, we use it to blow our noses.
7. Our picnic products are made almost completely of
paper, such as plates, napkins, tablecloths, cups and much
more. A lot of the things we use have been made out of
plastic for extra durability and sturdiness. However, many
things remain that are made of this material in every
color, shape and size.
8. One thing that seems to continue being used that is made
of paper is business cards and ID cards. For medical
purposes, the elderly, children and anyone who is insured
want to make sure they are found with all the information
a hospital or technicians might need in an emergency
situation. It is still used for some of the most important
things we have today-birth certificates and marriage
licenses.
