2. to square
pd REPEAT 4 [fd 100 lt 90]
end
When we first opened micro worlds we learnt all the basic commands like fd {forward]
bk {backwards} rt {right turn}. Then our challenge was to make a square not after long
we relised that we could just repeat 4 times what we did for one side and that made a
square. We also learnt that a square is a rectangle it just has a different name because
all its sides and angles are equal. The square is a rectangle because it fits all the rules
for a rectangle, the rules are four right angles, straight sides and it has to be inclosed
4 right angles
3. to rectangle
pd REPEAT 4 [fd 200 rt 90 fd 100 rt 90]
end
The rectangle is similar to the square because all you have to change is two of the
sides and make them longer but the angles stay the same. For a shape to be
classified as a rectangle it has to have all right angles, straight sides and it has to
be enclosed the same rules as a square. A right angle is 90 degrees so all the
angles are 90 degrees.
4. to scalene
pd fd 50 rt 140 fd 60 rt 120 fd 40 rt 100
end
to triangle
pd repeat 3 [rt 120 fd 100]
end
To make a regular triangle I found out that you can just repeat one side
three times similar to the square. All the angles are acute which is 60
degrees. To make a scalene triangle it is different because for it to be a
scalene triangle you need different size sides. This scalene triangle has two
acute angles and one right angle, an acute angle is anywhere inbetween 90
degrees and a straight line.
1 right angle
2 acute angles
3 acute angles
5. fd 100 rt 60 fd 50 rt 60 fd 50 rt 60 fd 100
rt 90 fd 85
This pentagon is quite similar to the rectangle but one of the
sides is split in two and they are both put on an obtuse angle.
This shape has five sides two obtuse angles two right angles and
one acute angle.
1 Acute angle
2 Obtuse angles
2 Right angles
6. to trapizium
pd rt 90 fd 50 rt 70 fd 50 rt 70 fd 50 rt
110 fd 85
end
I tried a couple of times to make this shape but I couldn’t find out
the correct degrees and sides. This shape is a quadrilateral because
it has four sides four angles and is enclosed. They are the rules for a
quadrilateral. This trapezium 2 obtuse angles and 2 acute angles.
2 obtuse angles
2 acute angles
7. to house

end
To make scenes like this one you need quite a lot of shapes this scene is made
up of a regular triangle a square a circle and a rectangle. I made this scene
because we had to make something with more than one turtle.
8. to pattern
repeat 50 [henry, rt 90 fd 50 fd 1 circle
george, rt 90 fd 50 fd 2 circle jackman, rt
90 fd 50 fd 3 circle t1, rt 90 fd 50 fd 1
circle t2, rt 90 fd 50 fd 1 circle]
end
One of the tasks that we had to complete to get used to the
controls was to make a pattern using the repeat command
I used several turtles to make it multi coloured.
