2. A conventional career path

• Recruited by a new entrant in the energy sector (Nuon) – 5 years

• Back in the energy sector (Lampiris) – 4th year
3. Lampiris, a new energy company

4. The prototype of normality?
A chair needs at least 3 legs. These are mine:
1) Family
1) Sports/health
1) Work
I wouldn’t perform well or be happy without all 3 of them.
5. Mileage and quality training
To perform in sports you need:
• Mileage on the race track
• But also quality training, out of your comfort zone
Both were and still are needed in business for me too.
6. People, detail and vision
For a CEO, I think it helps to combine several good habits:
1.Develop the people that work for you
2.Pay attention to detail
3.Keep your eye on the long term
7. Networking, a tough call for me
Yes, networking is important, but:
1. Usually in the evening
2. Usually with good drinks and food
3. Rarely with family or combined with sports ;-)
