Posting Changes
A posting change is a change in a quant characteristic field, such as unrestricted stock
to quality inspection stock, or a change in the product or batch number.
Generally, the physical location of the stock doesn't change. Whereas, the movement
of products from one warehouse to another, from one storage bin to another in a
warehouse, or from one plant or storage location to another plant or storage location is
called a stock transfer in Extended Warehouse management.
An example of posting change in the release from inspection into the company's own
stock or vice versa. A posting change can be triggered from ERP or within EWM. The
diagram below shows the various process flows related to posting changes
3. Organization Units
In this process flow, the posting change originates in the ERP system from either a transaction
IVIIGO or from MB1B .
Both of these postings will cause an outbound delivery document to be created. This
document will be replicated to the EWM system as a warehouse request document.
Based on settings in the warehouse process type, the posting change can be posted directly
during creation (from Posting Change Request) or , a warehouse task can be created for the
posting change. These settings also determine when in the process the goods movement
posting is made.
5. EWM
You can also create a posting change directly in EWM. The goods movement for
posting changes created directly in EWM is communicated to ERP via the goods
movement interface:
6. EWM
In transaction /SCWIWPOST, you can create either a direct posting change or a
posting change via a warehouse request document (and from the warehouse
request document you would then create the warehouse tasks).
If you want to change the destination bin it's only possible with a warehouse
request document.
The goods movement posting ("Warehouse material document") is a warehouse
task with category 7 (posting change) and can be seen in the warehouse
monitor.
7. EWM
1. Create a posting change in ERP and Execute in EWM
2. Create a posting change in EWM itself and send confirmation to ERP
