God gives Joshua a vision to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land after the death of Moses. Joshua shares this vision with the officers and people, instructing them to prepare to cross the Jordan River in three days to take possession of the land God has given them. The people respond positively, pledging to obey Joshua as they had obeyed Moses, and requesting that God be with Joshua as He was with Moses.
