3. 1 After the death of Moses the
servant of the Lord, the Lord said to
Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ aide:
2 “Moses my servant is dead. Now
then, you and all these people, get
ready to cross the Jordan River into
the land I am about to give to
them—to the Israelites.
Joshua 1:1-9
4. 3 I will give you every place where
you set your foot, as I promised
Moses.
4 Your territory will extend from the
desert to Lebanon, and from the
great river, the Euphrates—all the
Hittite country—to the
Mediterranean Sea in the west.
Joshua 1:1-9
5. 5 No one will be able to stand
against you all the days of your life.
As I was with Moses, so I will be
with you; I will never leave you nor
forsake you.
6 Be strong and courageous,
because you will lead these people
to inherit the land I swore to their
ancestors to give them.
Joshua 1:1-9
6. 7 “Be strong and very courageous.
Be careful to obey all the law my
servant Moses gave you; do not
turn from it to the right or to the left,
that you may be successful
wherever you go.
Joshua 1:1-9
7. 8 Keep this Book of the Law always
on your lips; meditate on it day and
night, so that you may be careful to
do everything written in it. Then you
will be prosperous and successful.
9 Have I not commanded you? Be
strong and courageous. Do not be
afraid; do not be discouraged, for
the Lord your God will be with you
wherever you go.”
Joshua 1:1-9
8. The Lord God said to Joshua, “Be
strong and courageous”, three times
so it means there is emphasis.
16. 4 Your territory will extend from the
desert to Lebanon, and from the
great river, the Euphrates—all the
Hittite country—to the
Mediterranean Sea in the west.
Joshua 1:4
18. 5 No one will be able to stand
against you all the days of your life.
As I was with Moses, so I will be
with you; I will never leave you nor
forsake you.
Joshua 1:5
19. Promise Of His Presence,
Protection Tell Them To Do
In Order To Take And
Occupy The Promise Land
21. 5 No one will be able to stand
against you all the days of your life.
As I was with Moses, so I will be
with you; I will never leave you nor
forsake you.
6 Be strong and courageous,
because you will lead these people
to inherit the land I swore to their
ancestors to give them.
Joshua 1:5-6
22. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be
strong and courageous. Do not be
afraid; do not be discouraged, for
the Lord your God will be with you
wherever you go.”
Joshua 1:9
24. 8 Keep this Book of the Law always
on your lips; meditate on it day and
night, so that you may be careful to
do everything written in it. Then you
will be prosperous and successful.
Joshua 1:8
26. When God said to Joshua to be
strong and courageous, God meant
it to be strong and courageous
physically and spiritually.
27. You can’t be strong and courageous
physically but not spiritually, or you
can’t be strong spiritually but not
strong physically.
28. You must be strong and courageous
both physically and spiritually so that
you can accomplish well what God
wants you to accomplish in this life.
29. The same thing also with us, in
2017 we should be physically and
spiritually strong, so that at the end
of the year we could be prosperous
and successful.
30. God commissions Joshua to do
something and that is to be the
successor of Moses and to lead His
people and possess the promise land
that God promised to them.
31. God commissions us also to go and
make disciples of all nations. That’s
our mandate. And to do that we
should be physically and spiritually
strong.
32. 10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and
in his mighty power.
Ephesian 6:10
33. 6 So he said to me, “This is the word
of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by
might nor by power, but by my
Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.
Zechariah 4:6
34. Physically how can we become
strong?
- You must eat healthy foods.
- You must have regular exercise.
36. 8 Keep this Book of the Law always
on your lips; meditate on it day and
night, so that you may be careful to
do everything written in it. Then you
will be prosperous and successful.
Joshua 1:8
42. The work is too heavy for
us and that we should be
dependent on God to do it.
43. 6 Be strong and courageous,
because you will lead these people
to inherit the land I swore to their
ancestors to give them.
Joshua 1:6
44. We will lead people to Him.
We will go to every place
that God wants it for us.
45. 3 I will give you every place where
you set your foot, as I promised
Moses.
4 Your territory will extend from the
desert to Lebanon, and from the
great river, the Euphrates—all the
Hittite country—to the
Mediterranean Sea in the west.
Joshua 1:3-5
46. 5 No one will be able to stand
against you all the days of your life.
As I was with Moses, so I will be
with you; I will never leave you nor
forsake you.
Joshua 1:3-5
52. When they are fighting the
Amorites, He reminded his
people on what the Lord
has said to him.
53. 25 Joshua said to them, “Do not be
afraid; do not be discouraged. Be
strong and courageous. This is what
the Lord will do to all the enemies
you are going to fight.”
Joshua10:25
55. 31 Israel served the Lord throughout
the lifetime of Joshua and of the
elders who outlived him and who
had experienced everything the
Lord had done for Israel.
Joshua 24:31
57. Start with our faithful relationship
with God.
Know Him more,
Know His Words,
Apply His words in our lives,
Depend on God,
Be faithful with God.
