PURPOSE
The system, which is built into the slide connection assemblies, relieves the
pressure of a high tonnage overload in milliseconds and quickly stops the slide
movement.
Normal operation is resumed by inching the slide to top dead center,
automatically reactivating the pump and re-pressurizing the system to the
original settings.
The overload cylinders also can be releases manually.

PUMP PLACEMENT
• OCP: back side of ram
• Some G2, GTX and S2: inside slide body
The placement of the hydraulic overload pump varies by
press series and year. Possible locations include:
• Older G1 and G2 Series: external tank mounted on
inside of frame

PUMP FEATURES
Hydraulic Overload Protection System
The appearance of your pump and your component locations
will vary depending on press, model and year.
On all models, the limit switch lets the PLC or press control
know the status of the pump.
The bleeder screw helps eliminate any air or loss of suction
that might occur.

BLEEDING THE SYSTEM
Hydraulic Overload Protection System
Take a metric Allen wrench, anywhere between 4 and 6
millimeters. Place the wrench in the bleeder screw and turn
counter clockwise.
Air and oil will seep out around
the set screw.
Once that’s done, tighten the
screw back up and let the pump
continue to pressurize.
The process might need to be repeated two or three times.
