History, ethos and values of Mozaic Design
Mozaic strives to provide holistic solutions to its patrons. Our engagement often transcends the boundaries of
project briefs and enter the realms of new experiences. We explore prospects of symbiotic growth of our clients
with nature and encourage sustainable practices in architecture as well as industrial products.
DEAN D'CRUZ
After graduating from Sir J.J. College of Architecture, Bombay, in 1983, Dean joined
Achitect Gerard Da Cunha as an assistant in Goa in 1985. Enamored by the soft and
h human scale of Goa's Architecture and lifestyle he decided to stay. In 1986 he became a
p partner in a firm called Natural Architecture, working on cost effective housing in a very
L Laurie Baker approach using waste building materials and innovative design. In 1994 he
e expanded base of design work, taking on small hotels, large houses and institutional work
a as principal architect of Dean D'Cruz & Associates. In 2001 he co-founded Mozaic, with
g general collaboration between disciplines as the core ethic. Having been part of the State
Level Committee for the making of the Regional Plan 2021 for Goa, his current emphasis is on urban interventions,
sustainable principles and conservation.
REBONI SAHA
Born in Georgetown, British Guyana, Reboni traveled through Africa and Germany before moving
to the North East of India with family. She completed her schooling in Loreto Convent, Kolkota
and graduated from National Institute of Design in 1994 in the field of Industrial Design. This
major was chosen on the basis of the combined strengths of her creative nature and fascination
with technology. After training at Bosch-Siemens Haugerate in Munich, Germany, she set up base
in Goa in 1995, and worked as a freelancer moving between Goa and Mumbai for 6 years before
the formation of Mozaic. She currently heads the Industrial Design section of Mozaic.
