6. Features: Windows 8: Apple IOS 7:
Built In Security Features Additional security features include 2 new
authentication methods tailored towards
touchscreens, the addition of antivirus capabilities to
windows defender. Smart screen filtering integrated
into the desktop, and support for the “secure boot”
functionality on UEFI systems to protects against
malware infecting the boot process.
Apple mobile device users will not be able to
“Jailbreak” their phones or tablets due to the upgrade.
The new operating system has a feature known as App
Lock, in which a business’s IT department can program
an IPad or an IPhone to run only one application and
block new software from being installed on the device.
App Stores According to Metro Score Scanner windows now has
50,000 apps in the Windows 8. Microsoft even recently
launched a reward system to entice developers to
submit good apps to the windows store for $100 each
up front. Growth has slowed since Windows 8′s launch
in October 2012, wherein the store only had 2,000
apps to offer.
The Apple App Store is a digital application distribution
platform for IOS developed and maintained by Apple
Inc. The apps can be downloaded directly to an IOS
device, or onto a personal computer via iTunes. From
July 11, 2008 – May 15, 2013 Apples app store has had
over 50 billion downloads.
Backup Procedure File history is a new feature in Windows 8 that allows
users to setup a schedule for automatically saving of
documents located in your libraries, contacts,
favourites or SkyDrive to an external drive or network
location.
ICloud and iTunes can back up most data on your
iPhone, IPad, or iPod touch. Backed-up information
includes purchased music, TV shows, apps, and books,
photos and video in the Camera Roll; device settings,
app data, Home screen and app organization,
Messages, ringtones, and more. Media files synced
from your computer aren’t backed up, but can be
restored by syncing with iTunes.
User Interface Experience Windows 8 uses a complete different interface to
Apple IOS and Windows 7.
Distinct translucent layers of content are meant to help
users maintain a sense of context while moving
through the interface and a new "multitasking" feature
means users can scroll between application windows
without going back to the home screen.
Compatibility Users of Windows 7 can switch to Windows 8 with
confidence. All the software that runs on Windows 7
also works fine on Windows 8 in general.
With the new Apple IOS 7 software coming out this fall,
the devices compatible with IOS 7 are, IPhone 4, 4s, 5,
Ipad 2, 3rd and 4th generation Ipad with retina, Ipad
mini and 5th generation IPod Touch.
Screen Size Windows chooses the best display settings for your PC
based on your monitor. If you want to adjust your
display settings, or if they have been changed you
would want to restore the default settings.
The Apple Ipad has a 9.7 inch Retina LCD screen with a
resolution of 2,048 x 1,536.
