2. Mondream was founded in Paris in 2012 by Robert Oliver, a 30 plus year veteran of the
New York real estate business, to bring New York style real estate asset management
strategies and execution to European commercial real estate and show how existing
buildings could be upgraded, returns increased, and value added.
Our name, Mondream, incorporates “monde”, the French word for “world” and our
mission, which is global real estate asset management: MOND + Real Estate Asset
Management. And in keeping with our commitment to serving our clients anywhere in
the world, we have expanded our presence to cover Paris, New York, and Luxembourg.
Our three principals have decades of complementary experience in real estate and provide
a range of services in leasing, marketing, consulting, acquisition and disposition,
investment fund setup/administration, development, and construction.
3. What We Do
We provide end-to-end services in real estate investments in the U.S. and Europe. We
locate properties where we see a significant opportunity for appreciation, match investors
to these properties, arrange for acquisition, manage the improvement and operation of the
asset or assets, and, in keeping with our clients’ individual agendas and goals, arrange for
disposition. For banks, particularly European banks with significant REO portfolios, we
are trusted advisors and marketers of their assets. We are able to set up and administer
Europe-based real estate investment funds. For investors seeking higher returns, we
source and manage real estate development projects. And for owners in place, we
provide asset management services dedicated to increasing the value of their holdings.

4. Who We Are
Robert James Oliver
CEO, Paris and New York
Robert James Oliver is a dual national (US and France) 30
year veteran of the New York City real estate market. A
career-long member of the Real Estate Board of New York,
he was a Senior Vice President of Joseph P. Day Realty
Corp., a 100+ year old owner-management firm, where he
held a broad power of attorney to represent the owners in all
facets of property ownership, authorized to bind to owner to
all contracts of leasing, management, union negotiations,
court settlements as well as vendors, contractors, and professionals.
Mr. Oliver is a sought-after expert on International real estate, and has done both
consulting work and recently taught Advanced International Corporate Finance to the
International MBA class and Organizational Behavior to the MBA and MSc classes at the
Paris School of Business, Paris France. He also designed and taught Sciences-Po Paris’
first ever graduate course on International Real Estate in the Masters in Economics
program.
Board memberships and civic affiliations in addition to the Real Estate Board of New
York (REBNY) include the Brooklyn Board of Realtors, Brooklyn Chamber of
Commerce, Downtown Brooklyn Management Association, and the Metropolitan Golf
Association/NY region. Mr. Oliver also founded the Hudson Heights Owners Coalition,
and has been a board member of three New York City Business Improvement Districts
and Chairman of two. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Columbia University and a
Master’s in Business Administration/International Corporate Finance from Pace
University, and has done additional graduate studies at Teachers College of Columbia
University and the Real Estate Institute at New York University.
5. Joao Verdades dos Santos
President Mondream EMEA, General Counsel,
Luxembourg
Joao Verdades dos Santos is a quadrilingual dual qualified
Portuguese lawyer admitted in both Portugal and Luxembourg,
with 15 years’ experience in Portugal as well as over 5 years
in-house experience in the Grand Duchy. Mr. dos Santos’
practice experience covers Insurance, Domiciliation Services,
Corporate and Commercial Law, Mergers & Acquisitions,
Private Equity, Alternative Investment Funds, Real Estate, and
Taxation.
He has worked on assignments in Malta, Luxembourg, Portugal, France, Brazil, Angola,
and Mozambique, and has advised on Corporate Law regarding the setting up of several
investment structures; setting up of a start-up Private Equity fund; setup of a Real Estate
Investment Fund; creation of a French/US Real Estate property management structure.
Mr. dos Santos has also been the liaison between Banks, Investors, Big4 accounting
firms, and other service providers and has handled legal work in connection with Real
Estate Investments in Portugal directly owned by developers, HNWI and banks. He is
currently handling several portfolios of property in Lisbon, Oporto, the Algarve and other
seaside areas, assists non-EU investors with relocation and visa applications, and
provides legal consultancy and advisory services to Portuguese SME´s wishing to export
their services and products overseas.
Mr. dos Santos holds degrees and qualifications from the European Institute of Public
Administration & University, Nancy, France (Postgraduate Diploma); European Legal
Studies School of Economics of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Lisbon, Portugal
(Postgraduate Diploma of Law); and the Universidade Moderna de Lisboa, Lisbon,
Portugal (Law Degree, Management and Business Law). He is fluent in English,
Portuguese, French, and Spanish.
6. David A. Lederman
President Mondream USA, New York
Mr. Lederman is an award-winning leader with outstanding
achievements creating and executing major development
projects, who can deliver the greatest possible efficiency,
economy, and value to investors. With thirty five years’
experience in real estate, his career includes significant
achievements and successful projects in architecture, the
construction business, asset management, and real estate development.
He has successfully done major office building redevelopment/repositioning projects,
core and shell apartment building construction, major adaptive re-use projects, has
worked extensively in acquisition and asset management, securing key development
entitlements and managing value-added capital improvement programs. His projects
have won prestigious awards, among them the Urban Land Institute National Project of
the Year and Regional Project of the Year (for 1180 Raymond Boulevard, Newark NJ),
BOMA Building of the Year/Historic Category (for 744 Broad Street, Newark NJ), and
the IBD/Interior Design Magazine Outstanding Achievement Award (for Zara flagship
store, New York NY).
Mr. Lederman holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania, a Bachelor
of Architecture from Pratt Institute, and is a licensed architect in New York State. He is
past board member of the Newark Arts Council and has participated in Junior
Achievement business education programs for young public school students.
