  1. 1. AggregatedConsumption DataJanuary 28,2011 January 28, 2011
  2. 2. Topics for Today’s Discussion• Customer process for obtaining aggregated consumption data• Review an example of the data• How to identify missing data for both residential and commercial accounts• Extrapolation methods to obtain missing data 2
  3. 3. Support of Local Law 84• Sound energy management is becoming more important as buildings are beginning to manage their carbon footprint.• Con Edison is a supporter of Local Law 84 and has taken several actions to support this benchmarking initiative. 3
  4. 4. Customer Process for Obtaining Aggregated Consumption Data• Customers may request aggregated consumption data from Con Edison by emailing their requests along with a common area account number associated with the building to citybenchmarking@coned.com. – Please include the name on the account and the service address on the request. – If you are acting on behalf of the customer of record or requesting tenant level data, please submit a letter of authorization along with your request.• The fee to obtain aggregated building consumption for up to 24 months of electric and/or gas usage is $102.50 per building.• Con Edison will send the requested aggregated building consumption data by email to the address the request originated from within 15 days after your payment has been processed. 4
  5. 5. Building Unit Summary 5
  6. 6. Example of the Data Customers Receive 6
  7. 7. Example on Extrapolating Residential DataFormula: ((Total consumption / # of units) x # of Missing units) +Total consumption Total consumption for the month = 212,455 kWh Number of bills issued during the cycle date = 220 Units missing from the monthly aggregated consumption = 17((212,455 / 220 = 966 kWh per unit) x 17 missing units) + 212,455 = 228,877kWh’s for the billing period 7
  8. 8. Extrapolating Missing Commercial Data• For missing commercial data a value chart will be provided by the City of New York – The values will be based on end use and provided as a specific usage amount per square foot during a specific time frame – Once completed the benchmarking rule will be available on www.nyc.gov/ggbp 8
  9. 9. Questions• For more information, please e-mail citybenchmarking@coned.com• To obtain steam data please visit: www.mysteamaccount.coned.com• National Grid customers can contact: (718) 643 - 4050 9
