* Carefully select the right faucet for your sink. To
prevent unnecessary steps of drilling or patching,
purchase a new unit with faucet centers that line up
with the holes in your sink or countertop. If you’re
changing faucet styles, you may need to purchase a
faucet hole cover or plate.

* Read through the installation directions. Be sure
you understand any special requirements of your
new faucet. If you are a first-time installer, you
may also want to check online for video tutorials
from the manufacturer.
* Make sure to have all of your tools ready. You’ll
likely need an adjustable wrench, a pair of
channel locking pliers, a basin wrench or socket
wrench, and plumbers putty.

1. Turn off the main hot and cold water valves (usually
located below the sink in a cabinet). Open the
faucet to remove pressure and any remains of water.
2. Using your channel locking pliers and adjustable
wrench, disconnect the hot and cold water lines.
If the lines are old, consider replacing them.

to verify alignment, seal the new faucet with

water line a bit more
Your project should be complete. In just an hour or two of
