What is it and what can I do? In 2012, as profiled in this frequently-cited NYTimes article, Google conducted a large company-wide research study to understand why certain teams performed better than others. And what they found was that the most significant differentiating factor among the highest-performing teams was the team’s level of psychological safety. Psychological safety drives better performance and better business outcomes. What is psychological safety? Psychological safety is the quality of a team environment where people can speak up and share ideas - even risky or challenging ideas - without fear. Amy Edmondson, a professor at Harvard Business School and advisor at August, is the world’s experts on psychological safety. Edmondson describes psychological safety as the belief that a person will not be punished or humiliated for speaking up with ideas questions, concerns, or mistakes.

Raport przedstawia wyniki diagnozy sektora kreatywnego oraz powiązań sektora kultury, branż kreatywnych i pozostałej części gospodarki. W raporcie znajdzie Pan m. in. opis dynamiki zmian sektora kreatywnego w ostatnich latach, jego rozmieszczenie przestrzenne, czy informacje na temat regionalnych specjalizacji. W publikacji zaprezentowano również wyniki analizy powiązań pomiędzy sektorem kultury a branżami kreatywnymi, które wskazują na istnienie silnie czerpiących z kultury branż tj. radio i telewizja, a także swoistych outsiderów, czyli branż słabo powiązanych np. architektury. Nadrzędnym celem badania było wypracowanie rekomendacji dla polityki publicznej ukierunkowanej na wsparcie rozwoju sektora kultury i kreatywnego w Polsce. Mamy nadzieję, że staną się podstawą do dalszych dyskusji, rozważań oraz inspiracją dla podejmowanych działań i zmian służących rozwojowi podmiotów z branż kreatywnych. Raport jest zwieńczeniem przedsięwzięcia realizowanego przez Instytut Badań nad Gospodarką Rynkową współfinansowanego przez Ministra Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego. Młodzi projektanci, którzy są na początku swojej drogi zawodowej. Przedsiębiorcy, którzy do tej pory nie współpracowali z projektantami. I Wzorowe Śląskie – pierwszy tego typu program w regionie. Program, który dał szansę współpracy obu wspomnianym stronom. Badania przeprowadzone wśród śląskich przedsiębiorców w 2011 roku pokazały duży potencjał projektowy drzemiący na Śląsku. 33% przedsiębiorców na Śląsku planuje w najbliższym czasie wdrożenie nowego produktu lub usługi, a aż 43% zastanawia się nad tym. 62% projektantów pracujących w zawodzie ocenia dobrze rozwój designu w woj. Śląskim (*O designie w województwie śląskim. Opinie śląskich projektantów, przedsiębiorców i samorządów lokalnych; Paulina Rojek-Adamek, Grzegorz Gawron; wydawca: Zamek Cieszyn w ramach Design Silesia, 2011.) To spostrzeżenie było jednym z impulsów do stworzenia programu, który pozwoliłby poszerzyć kompetencje firm dzięki współpracy z projektantami oraz umożliwił zdobycie doświadczenia młodym śląskim dizajnerom. Druga edycja projektu Design Silesia, realizowana w 2012 roku dała możliwość finansowania, tak więc zrodziło się Wzorowe Śląskie. – Mamy przedsiębiorców, którzy nie współpracowali wcześniej z projektantami i młodych projektantów z niewielkim doświadczeniem. Jednym słowem to recepta na porażkę – żartował Janusz Konaszewski podczas pierwszego, roboczego spotkania z udziałem wszystkich zespołów. Aby zmniejszyć ryzyko wspomnainej katastrofy, nad calym procesem projektowym czuwali trenerzy – projektanci z dużym doświadczeniem zawodowym. Wszystkich czekała droga w nieznane, która trwała rok.

Developmental conversations are critical for short-term change, but when it comes to reaching long-term goals, traditional leadership development practices can come up short.
