My name is Peggy and I am your
facilitator.
The purpose of this tutorial is to
introduce you to PS-MAPP and
some terms and definitions that
are helpful to be familiar with
potential foster/adoptive parents.

Safety Model Approach
to Partnerships in
Parenting, affectionately
referred to as PS-MAPP,
aids state and private
agencies with recruiting
permanent, safe homes
for children in foster
care.

agencies, the courts, and
community stake holders. All
of these people rally around
the child and work together
to ensure that the child has a

becoming resource
(foster) or adoptive

an informed
decision regarding
their ability to take
on the role and
develop the skills
necessary to be a

providing

potential
participants the
agency is able to
get to know and
make assessments
on an individual or
families ability and

It is an acronym for Permanence & Safety Model Approach to Partnerships in Parenting, affectionately referred to as PS-MAPP, aids state and private agencies with recruiting permanent, safe homes for children in foster care.

All of these people rally around the child and work together to ensure that the child has a permanent and safe environment.

In addition to providing information and resources to potential participants the agency is able to get to know and make assessments on an individual or families ability and willingness to sustain that role.
