5. What’s the problem?
• The number of homeless people in Manchester has increased dramatically
• Further council budget cuts will make the situation worse
• There are over 30 amazing charities & voluntary groups providing services,
but there’s no easy way to find out who is doing what, where and when
• The public want to help, but are being educated not to give money direct to a
homeless person, so they don’t know what to do for the best
6. What’s our solution?
• A reliable & easily accessible source of service information, making it easier
to find help for a homeless person based on their needs
• An engaging & informative guide to useful actions for the public to take, to
give help to homeless people, based on what organisations say they need
• Making all this accessible in one place, through a mobile: The Street
Support App.
7. Service information for
Manchester is now

8. Endorsements
Here’s what some
frontline experts in
Manchester have said
about Street Support…
“Street Support is a vital asset for the city. It puts all services
available in the hands of the user by criteria, something we have all
been asking for some time.”
– Michael Thompson, Big Change Campaign
“The format is soooo easy to use, love it. Well done Viv and
team!” – Fie Lancaster, Coffee4Craig
“In speaking to dozens of homeless people, and those that work to
help them, it has been very clear that people are crying out for what
Street Support is offering. Homeless people looking for help will
benefit, as will members of the public seeking to support them.”
– Jez Green, The Mustard Tree
“Street Support Network is an effective way for people affected
by homelessness to find help that is relevant and local to them.”
– Joe Gravett, The Booth Centre
“Really useful for police, fire and ambulance. Would enable us to
signpost vulnerable people in real time.”
– Phillip Batchelor, GM Police
9. What else is happening?
• The major organisations in Manchester are on board (20 have verified, more waiting).
• We are co-designing ’Give Help’ alongside experienced experts and homeless people
• We attend regular meetings with local organisations and Manchester city council to co-
ordinate & share learning, including the Big Change steering group, and The Manchester
Homeless Person’s Charter
• We have secured £5k funding as a contribution towards further development
• We are working with campaign and strategy experts from leading NW digital agencies
10. What do we need from you?
Could you sponsor Street
Support?
We need £20k to cover the
remaining development costs,
and to run a PR campaign.
Can you contribute towards this cost?
Could you connect us with
people in your network?
We need to connect with
existing networks, to find
partners and advocates.
We also need PR/Marketing partners.
11. How will we use this money?
• Develop Street Support ‘Give Help’, so the public can contribute money, time
or things that the organisations need
• Launch a city wide campaign to engage & educate a wider audience
12. How will we measure success?
• Outreach workers are able to find the right help for each clients situation
• Service provision is more efficient - gaps and overlaps reduced due to better visibility
• More time, money and things needed will be donated to service providers
• More money raised for the Big Change Manchester fund
• Street Support is used to unify the efforts of ALL service providers, the council, Big Change
Manchester and The Homeless Person’s Charter
13. Why is this worth your support?
• Support ALL these organisations to help homeless people in Manchester
• See direct results - individuals more able to get support to meet their needs
• Be part of a city wide network, working together for a bigger social impact
