Book Project
 Essential Question
    Why Read?
 Content Question
What is the plot of a book or story?
What is the climax and resolution of a story and
     why are they important?
 Content Question
Describe a character from the book you read?
Describe one of the setting from the book and write
     a short narrative description.
This project allows student to make choices. Each
student will be given a project packet that list 10

can chose how he or she want to earn their points.
The class will read a book both aloud in class as
well as at home. The small projects will be based
on the book chosen by the class, the class will get
a choice of three books they can read. The class
will take a vote and the book with the most votes
will be the book the entire class will read. One day
in class their will be a "book day", this is where the
class shows off their projects.
The teacher is there to guide the student. The
teacher is available to answer any and all
questions the students might have. However
this is an individual assignment and the
student is responsible for completing the work.
This assignment is done individually. The student
has choices to make throughout the project. The
first choice is which book the student want to read
for the project
- The Adventure of Huckleberry Finn
- Something Wicked This Way Comes
- Frankenstein
The student will also be responsible for choosing
the small projects that add up to the total points of
the project. A description can be found at
http://unitplanportfolio-
meggiehall.wikispaces.com/Home
To aid the student in the project. Help the
student to brainstorm ideas for the project.
The student will be given all the information
needed to complete the assignment and may
need help with the creative aspect. The student
should do the project, and not submit a project
done by the parent.
By giving students choices they will have an
opportunity to work and utilize interest with in
the project.
