Intro to themes
1. Three recurring themes were present throughout the program involving Ethics,
Performance Improvement, and Task Analysis all of which tie in directly to both strategy and
profitability during human performance improvement efforts. This portfolio is arranged with
coursework that shares commonality within each theme and is derived from compiled research
and presentations that focused on these core areas along with supplemental narratives to reflect
my progressions from inception to completion of the program.
Theme 1: Ethics
The responsibility of upholding ethics within an organization weighs tremendously on everyone
and spans from the top down. The T&D professional is seen as a pivotal instrument in leading
ethics within the organization as they to remain firm in defining socially responsible actions,
uphold expectations, and promote ethical policies and procedures to improve social welfare for
organizations.
Theme 2: Performance Improvement
This theme is included to show how the T&D professional can be a change agent that leads the
organization to success simply through the training and development efforts they both create and
implement within the organization. This is important for understanding various developmental needs
and how to address training improvement within the organization to obtain optimal business performance.
Theme 3: Task Analysis
Task Analysis is a critical component for understanding the functions of the T&D professionals
within corporate environments;understanding their typical responsibilities, tasks, and implications in their
role. The impact of fully understanding the role of a T&D practitioner within an organization can aid
tremendously in how effectively training initiatives are implemented.
Therefore, the organization can be seen resting upon these core areas that are critical to the T&D
professional; this assumption will be supported through the material in the following section.
