ITALIAN DESIGN selected by Venice Design Week
How can design REvive tradition? Traditional production systems and innovative design
This year in Berlin, DESIGN WEEK network presents an exhibition that brings together products of fashion, interior, industrial design with the aim to inform the German public about the Italian creativity and quality. Scope of this exhibition is to create a business network among designers, enterprises, retailers and the German public. The exhibited works have been selected for the high quality of working processes to show the relationship between innovation and tradition. The exhibition points out the talent and creative potential of small Italian creators, enterprises, artisans and designers coming from industrial, fashion and product design. In Italy there are many high quality and innovative creative design companies, dispersed throughout the country; when it comes to micro enterprises, artisans and designers with difficulty manage to enter the international market. In order to facilitate their integration, DESIGN WEEK network has started a network of relationships within the international design weeks, featuring events aimed at enhancing “Good Design” , performing exhibitions in design centers and other strategic meeting points, located in high-frequency and shopping areas.

DESIGN WEEK network organisiert
in Zusammenarbeit mit Venice
Design Week, stilwerk und der

Design-Ausstellung mit innovativen
Design-Produkten aus Italien. Die
Ausstellung findet vom 22. bis 30.
Mai im Foyer des Stilwerks in Berlin
statt. Sie ist die erste von einer
Reihe von Veranstaltungen, die
das Ziel haben, ein Netzwerk aus
Designern, Firmen, Einzelhändlern

In Italien gibt es über das gesamte
Territorium verteilt viele kreative
Unternehmen, die auf hohem

fondness for fabrics, whereas
from her passion and love for
botany and the green world
(degree in Natural Sciences at the
University of Padua and Master
Degree in Environmental Sciences
at the Fondation Universitaire

she draws the inspiration for the
garments and accessories she
makes.
These steps and her job at an
environmental engineering
company are the benchmarks on
her path towards the opening of
the Atelier, as well as her decision
to attend a course on patchwork,
which led her to the rediscovery of
the world of fabrics, which she had
always been surrounded by, and to
the choice of going her own way,
thus starting her own first activity
in the early 2000s.
Bevilacqua Pizzinato’s Showroom
Bevilacqua Pizzinato’s headquarters are in Venice, Santa
Croce, 1320. Here you can both find clothes, accessories
and bags, and see how the fabrics they are made of
are produced. The showroom is located in the same
palace as the Tessiture Bevilacqua, one of the oldest
weaving factories in Venice. It is so that when visiting
the Tessitura, you will see how weavers work on 18th-
century handlooms, which the Tessitura still uses,
following ancient methods. You will therefore understand
why Bevilacqua Pizzinato’s creations are unique and
precious.

The Programmable Table is a new vision for the future of smart and self-

This prototype, unveiled at the 2015 Fuori Salone del Mobile in Milan
