Vizada Networks Group
Financial Manager – Vizada Networks AS 01.01.08-31.12.09
Overall responsible for the accounts of Vizada Networks AS. Vizada Networks AS was previously registered as
Taide Network AS (Taide). Taide was a part of Telenor Satellite Services which was bought by APAX partners
in 2007. Taide then had a name change to Vizada Networks AS of 01.07.08, and the company (also within
the same group) named Vizada Networks AS, changed name to Vizada VSAT AS.
Vizada Networks AS is located in the small city of Holmestrand, approximately 1 hour drive from Oslo. The
main businesses are Managed IP (mainly delivered via satellite) and Voice solutions. We deliver almost all
our services in Africa and in the Middle East. The number of FTE’s is as per 17th of May ’09 39 persons. 3 of
these (in addition to myself) are organized in the Finance department, which is run by me.
The main responsibilities of the Finance department is bookeeping, following up payments from customers,
paying vendors, reporting (monthend, year end, cash reports, etc), making forecasts, putting together the
budget for approval rounds in the management group and finally in the board, and of course performing
continues revenue/cogs/OpEx analysis. One of the persons under my responsibilty is dedicated to operating
the switchboard. One is mainly working with the AR, and one is a senior accountant-
Manager Carrier Relations / Voice Controller – Taide Network AS 01.04.07-31.12.07
This position was a combined posistion where I kept my previous tasks and responisbilties, and added on the
responsibilty of expanding the number of interconnects, developing relations with carriers and also being a
member of the management group represeting the voice area of Taide. This period represented a major
change in carrier stragtegy where we went from a single carrier strategy to a strategy which ment
interconnecting with many major players, and playing out our unique competetive advantage in three
African countries. This resulted in a huge increase in both revenues and gross margin – both in terms of
money and gross margin percentage.
2. Voice Controller- Taide Network AS 01.10.04-31.03.07
I was responsible for a number of tasks related to the voice area of the business, organized in the business
operations department. The main tasks and responsibilties were:
Controlling minute cost lists
Creating a least cost routing table (LCR)
Creating minute pricelist
Invoicing
Revenue analysis
Creating the monthly voice report

contracts and travelled all over western Africa, mostly in Nigeria, Angola, Ghana and Guinea. During my
time as ASM I have met decision makers and business stakeholders on all levels of the organisations, all from
the small one-man company ISP to CEO’s and CTO’s in big African telco’s. Amongst the success stories in
this field, is a very big Angolan operator, a big bandwidth reseller in Guinea, a previous partner of SierraTel in
Sierra Leone and at that time the biggest internet cafe in Lagos in Nigeria.
