Jessica Tyo | Sales Representative
From being able to sing with her mouth closed, to coordinating trade shows in their entirety, Software
Sales Representative Jessica Tyo is a woman of many talents. She has a positive attitude and is
extremely hardworking, facing daily challenges with integrity and poise.
“I have always been encouraged to explore a career in sales, however I hadn’t specifically been
pulled to one industry,” said Tyo. “I couldn’t be happier with my position. It provides me with
wonderful growth opportunities and a direction for the future.”
Jessica began at FlowCal in a supportive role to the sales team where she handled quotes for
potential customers, contract delivery and execution, beginning sales for customers, and licensing for
existing FLOWCAL systems. Now, Jessica is a representative on the Sales team and focuses on
FLOWCAL Enterprise and Client/Server software sales. She is also responsible for all trade show
coordination and planning for the trade show season, as well as travelling and representing FlowCal
as an exhibitor at most shows.
Even at the start of her career at FlowCal, Jessica was given a leadership role as the first person to
head FlowCal’s Events Committee, a group of individuals from different departments who strive to
create an entertaining monthly calendar full of events and office activities. Though the events
committee is no longer led by Jessica, she still participates whenever possible.
Choosing a Bachelor’s degree in University Studies from Texas Tech University, Jessica was able to
explore different concentrations of interest. By her graduation, Jessica completed three minors; Mass
Communications, Religious Studies, and Addictive Disorders and Recovery Studies.
Through all of Jessica’s success, her professional role model has been her father. He encourages
her to do the best she can in every position, regardless of surroundings or circumstance, and to be
bold and believe she is capable of anything if she will train, commit, and be intentional in her work
ethic.
“Ever since I can remember my dad has taught me about presence, professional attitude, charisma,
hard work and diligence, whether in or out of the workplace. He has been a great encouragement in
my transition into FlowCal and a great example of working hard to be able to do the things in life you
love,” Jessica said.
When Jessica is not at FlowCal or on the road during trade shows, she is an active team leader with
Young Life, a volunteerled ministry group centered on forming relationships with high school
students and their families. In the little spare time she has, Jessica enjoys writing, reading romance
and adventure stories, singing at her church, traveling and especially watching Downtown Abbey with
her mom. After recently conquering a half marathon, Jessica says she may have added a new hobby.
“When I was a child, I wanted to be a storm chaser. On more than one occasion, I tried to convince
my mom to follow some pretty intense weather patterns in Houston and let me video tape them. I
moved on to wanting to be a writer, then a PR Sports Agent, a Youth Pastor, a therapist, a professor.
Now, I’m thinking that one day, when I finally grow up, I just want to be something fantastic,” Jessica
said. “Life constantly changes and while I am often completely shocked by the turns it takes, I love
the excitement.”
