1. Legal Information Required on Emails
The following relates to legislation in the Companies Act 2006 and is relevant to companies within the UK.
It requires that certain information is to be included on all emails, letterheads, and order forms (in legible
characters!). It is not enough to simply link to a page that has this information. This is the case for all emails sent
by staff / customer services as well as marketing emails.
In accordance with Companies Act 2006, the following information should be shown:
 Address of company’s registered office
 Company’s registration number and place of registration (e.g. "XYZ Enterprises Limited is a company
registered in England and Wales with company number 1234567")
This should all be the information of the company with which the consumer is transacting – if this is different from
the Trading details of the company such a difference should be explained.
