The document discusses the Infrastructure of Spatial Data of Catalonia (IDEC) and its efforts to create a more usable spatial data infrastructure (SDI) in Catalonia. IDEC aims to reengineer its SDI components to use newer technologies and standards like INSPIRE. This will help maximize use of the SDI by both data providers and users. IDEC is also working to better document its resources using templates and metadata, and serve as a reference center for SDI knowledge in Catalonia. The overall goal is to modernize IDEC's SDI and help spatial data providers in Catalonia comply with INSPIRE standards.
