3. Serendib Educational Foundation
Imagine a community without
education;
Imagine a family of four trying to
live on a few thousand Rupees a
month
Imagine a lone, single parent
having bright and talented children
with capabilities to make a
difference

Who would they turn to?
Who would offer them a helping
hand?

5. Serendib Educational Foundation
SEF provides an invaluable safety net
for those who have nowhere else to turn in
times of need. The area of educational
benefit includes some of the most densely
populated parts of Sri Lanka including the
North, East and all areas with high
indices of social deprivation.
SEF strives to help deserving students
who are talented to pursue their
secondary and higher studies in order to
establish an educated community
within Sri Lanka so that they will become
useful citizens who will be an asset to the
nation as well as to the Muslim
community.

6. Serendib Educational Foundation
We make small grants in the form of
cash payment to get access to education a
bit easier and to give a helping hand on the
way to recovery
When possible, we also involve in
conducting free seminars for the GCE
O/L and A/L students occasionally prior
to their examinations. Talented and
experienced teachers are invited to
prepare model examination papers which
are discussed in the seminars. This
approach was found very effective and
moreover it gave the necessary confidence
to the students to face the examinations.
