Destination: Nowhere seeks to refugees a somewhere by raising awareness and funds in public transit spaces where the destination is on the forefront of everyone’s minds.
2. CAN’T MOVE FORWARD
CAN’T GO BACK
Over 11 million refugees are stuck between point A and point B.
They are individuals all with real lives that have been put on pause,
waiting for a train to somewhere that keeps getting more and more delayed.
3. Our emblem is a hitchhiker’s thumb because it’s a sign of the hope that the
refugees have—hope that strangers out of their own kindness will stop their
own lives to help them.
THE TRAVELING THUMB
4. SWIPE TWICE FOR
SOMEWHERE
We’re going to give refugees a somewhere by raising awareness and
funds in public transit spaces where the destination is on the forefront
of everyone’s minds.
Commuters donate a ‘fare’ to the refugees in need through The International
Rescue Committee by double-scanning their public transit card at the
turnstiles or at our ads on the platforms.
5. DESTINATION: NOWHERE
OUTDOOR
Signs greet commuters at turnstiles in major cities
across the world. All the commuter has to do is
scan her card twice at the turnstile to send a ‘fare’
to a refugee family in need of transportation to their
new home.
7. DESTINATION: NOWHERE
OUTDOOR
We get that some people are too worried about
catching their train to stop at the turnstiles for a double
scan. That’s why we put ads with built-in scanners on
the platform. The busy commuter can now scan while
she waits.
8. DESTINATION: NOWHERE
SMS
For those who take the bus to work every
day, we’re adding a notification to their
regular bus tracker texts–whether they
have a smartphone or not. Next time they
are waiting for the 156 to come, they can
also donate to our cause.
9. DESTINATION: NOWHERE
DIGITAL
We don’t want to limit the campaign to
the people who only travel by bus or rails.
By partnering with Google Maps, we’ll
autofill the destination with “Nowhere” so
we can reach those who get to point B via
other forms of transportation.
10. DESTINATION: NOWHERE
DIGITAL
Now for the planes. We’ll also autofill the
destinations on Kayak.com. Travelers can
learn more and donate to the cause
at checkout.
11. DESTINATION: NOWHERE
SOCIAL
By showing us their own Traveling
Thumbs with #DestinationNowhere after
they donate to the International Rescue
Committee, people can raise awareness
for the refugees who are struggling.

There are a lot of different resources out

DestinatioNowhere.com is where people
can find answers, hear stories, and most
importantly, start to see the refugees not
as a statistic, but as people.
