This document provides instructions for a lesson on inference and deduction. It explains that students will define inference and deduction, explain how they can infer or deduce information from quotes in a novel, and justify their inferences and deductions. It includes an activity where the teacher will perform actions and students must infer what emotion or situation it represents. Students are also given a table to copy where they must select quotes from the novel, deduce or infer something from each quote, and provide reasoning to support their conclusions.
