The Big Bend National Park is located in Texas and was created in 1944. It is named for the large bend in the Rio Grande River that forms the border between the US and Mexico, with the park encompassing over 1,600 km of that border. The park features mountains, canyons, desert, and rivers where an ancient inland sea once was. It is home to over 1,200 plant species including 60 types of cacti, as well as many species of animals.
