A new 20,000 sq. ft. aquaculture research
facility is under construction on Prince Edward
Island and is due to open in August 2015. Facilities
will be available for contract and collaborative projects in
fish health, nutrition and genomics.
The Center for Aquaculture Technologies (CAT) was established in 2012, with focus on the use of
advanced technologies to improve aquaculture productivity.
The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Linnaeus
Capital Partners B.V, and maintains research
operations in San Diego, CA and Prince Edward
Island, Canada.
Facility Expansion
In August 2013 CAT expanded their
facility in San Diego by 2,000 square
feet and opened a wet lab facility for
housing shrimp, tilapia and zebrafish
in a larger capacity.

In Vivo Research and Services
The Center for Aquaculture Technologies Canada (CATC) will be expanding their research
facilities, due to open in August 2015, to accommodate additional capacity for in vivo research
and contract services.
The company supports research activities in areas including:
* Genomics and selective breeding
* Drug and immuno-potentiator studies
* Vaccine testing
* Diet and novel feed ingredient studies
Compliance
In vivo studies can be carried out to
the recognized standards of Good
Clinical Practice (GCP) and Good
Laboratory Practice (GLP) as needed
for client-specific applications.
Our existing infrastructure can accommodate
salmonids, shrimp, tilapia and zebrafish. Our
expansion is designed to house additional
cold and warm water marine and freshwater
species.
Our highly skilled team of researchers have
extensive experience in study design. Trials can be
tailored to client-specific needs; ranging from
performance and efficacy evaluations, to safety,
side effect and residue testing.
