4. Dear Reader
Firstly, allow me to congratulate you on making the decision to download
this free, insightful and potentially life-changing guide.
You've obviously downloaded it because you want to make some kind of
positive change to your body.
Perhaps you want to;
• Lose Weight And Keep It Off
• Become Trimmer
• Drop A Clothes Size Or Two
• Gain More Body Confidence
• Increase Your General Self-Confidence
• Feel And Get Fitter
• Feel Great About Yourself
Ultimately, whatever your reasons for taking action, the important point
is that you DID! - so congratulations are due.
Because when you have the courage to take action, that means you have
the ability to succeed.
You know, most people never take decisive action in their lives and
therefore they never really achieve anything - they just wish that something in
their lives would change without putting in any effort.
And when nothing changes, they moan about it!
Well, I don't know about you, but that's sounds like a pretty dumb thing
to do from where I'm sitting!
5. You see it takes a certain state of mind to act on a desire and a certain
state of mind to achieve success. And as you are about to discover, your
mindset is going to play a pivotal role in helping you become successful in
losing weight without dieting in the traditional sense.
Now, just before I outline the process of how losing weight in this way
works, you might like this short excerpt from American Psychologist, April
2007, Vol. 62, No. 3;
Medicare's Search For Effective Obesity Treatments
Diets Are Not The Answer
The prevalence of obesity and its associated health problems have
increased sharply in the past 2 decades. New revisions to Medicare policy
will allow funding for obesity treatments of proven efficacy. The authors
review studies of the long-term outcomes of calorie-restricting diets to
assess whether dieting is an effective treatment for obesity.
These studies show that one third to two thirds of dieters regain more
weight than they lost on their diets, and these studies likely underestimate
the extent to which dieting is counterproductive because of several
methodological problems, all of which bias the studies toward showing
successful weight loss maintenance. In addition, the studies do not
provide consistent evidence that dieting results in significant health
improvements, regardless of weight change. In sum, there is little
support for the notion that diets lead to lasting weight loss or health
benefits.
Now it's the last sentence that's the 1000 ton bombshell!
But first understand this - the article is not just about obesity, it's about
dieting in general being an effective, healthy and lasting means of weight
control (or not as the case may be).
Because chances are you've dieted yourself at least once before, right?
And if you've dieted before, then it begs the question, why are you now
reading this report?
6. Well, could it be that your own personal experience of dieting actually
agrees with the conclusion drawn by the authors of the article?
There's certainly a high chance that it does!
And even it doesn't and you think your lack of dieting success was purely
down to your lack of discipline and will power, it's still of no real
consequence if that's your conclusion.
Why?
Because ALL dieters, regardless of their conclusions about dieting, share
1 massive thing in common.
And that is, at some stage they are all virtually guaranteed to either spend
a little or a lot of time beating themselves up over their dieting failures.
Yes, that's right!
Virtually 95% and more of everyday people like you and I who start a
self-imposed diet, will fail to stick to it, irrespective of their mindset.
That is absolutely mind-blowing!
And if you reckon I've just made that stat up, then have a think about
everyone you've ever known who went on a diet and stuck to it for more
than 6 months, let alone a year.
How many people can you think of ?
6 people, 7 or maybe 8?
It's not easy is it? If you can think of just 1 person, then you've done
phenomenally well. More than 1 and you must have some really unique
friends.
Because from my personal experience, let alone everyone else I've known
who's dieted, I know that you eventually give up, no matter how focused you
are!
